DAY AND NIGHT: VARIATIONS ON A THEME

I love how just changing the colour produces such dramatic results. The concept for these two rings came from a Faberge design feature: that of having cut stones running over a smooth surface, and this concept translated itself into several pieces,

Rubellite, black diamond and pearl ring in black gold.

The same design, two results.

AN AQUAMARINE AND DIAMOND RING

This is a perfect example of how an old stone can be given a new lease of life.  The aquamarine itself was badly scratched and restored by my lapidary.  The setting was designed in conjunction with the client, who wanted a versatile jewel she could wear day or night.
